Tired is NOT the New Cool!

Tired is NOT the New Cool!

?? It’s 2023, and you’d think the world is now more advanced and tech-friendly than ever. You’d think we’ve discovered a way to compress the optimal amount of work that a human being can perform within a 24-hour period.

Tired is NOT the New Cool

Welcome to the 21st century, where we measure success by how close we are to a mental breakdown. And forget about the basic human need of rest, we drink caffeine like it's water and push ourselves to the limit???

??I'm on my third cup of coffee and it's only 9 am. #HustleTilWeDie

??It's time to ditch self-care and prioritize that report due tomorrow?

??Why bother with personal life and hobbies when we can work 24/7 and show the world how dedicated we are to our jobs????

??Who needs a work-life balance when you can have a work-work balance??

??But wait, who needs a healthy mind and body when we can have the prestigious title of "Burnout King/Queen??"

??Let's make exhaustion our new accessory and wear it with pride???

??Excuse me, can I get a venti iced latte with extra burnout, please??

??Let's all join in the competition of who can sacrifice the most of their wellbeing in the name of success. Because as we all know, sleep is for the weak???

COME ON, CUT THE NONSENSE???

Is being exhausted and burnt-out really something worth bragging about?? ??

Let's put an end to this glorification of overworking and prioritize our physical and mental health.

Remember, tired is not the new cool, it's just plain unhealthy.??

Work Hard, Play Harder - Unless You're Dead

We've all heard the phrase "work hard, play hard," and it's a sentiment that many of us strive to live up to.?

But in recent years, there's been a disturbing trend of people wearing their overwork like a badge of honor.???

They proudly proclaim how little sleep they get, how little they eat, and how little time they spend with friends and family. And to them, this is all part of the hustle.?

Well, I'm here to say that it's time to stop glorifying overworking.???

The absence of basic self-care is not something to be applauded.

In fact, it's downright dangerous.?

Think about it.

You wouldn't drive your car without oil changes, or neglect to charge your phone.

So why do we think it's okay to neglect our own bodies and minds????

I get it. We live in a culture that values productivity above all else...?

But what good is productivity if it comes at the cost of our health and happiness????

It's time to shift our mindset from "work hard, play hard" to "work smart, play often." And let's be real - when was the last time you heard someone on their deathbed say, "I wish I had worked more"????

Probably never.?

?? Stop glamorizing overworking. It's not a badge of honor - it's a recipe for burnout.

So, if you still brag about the amount of work hours you’ve logged in, it’s time to rethink your priorities. ??

Let's break the stigma around taking breaks and looking after our wellbeing.

Let's not wait until it's too late to prioritize our well-being.

Let's start valuing health and personal life rather than wearing exhaustion like a badge of honor.

Remember, tired is not the new cool.??

?? Disclaimer: No caffeine-addicted, sleep-deprived, or burnt-out individuals were harmed in the making of this article. But seriously, take care of yourself.

Thanks for continuous support.

Until next time, stay well.

I never thought burnout was cool. It's a bad feeling. Sometimes deadlines have to be met. I would rather not live on deadline.
