Tired As A Mother: Holá

Holá ALL!!!

Tired as a mother over here and I'm excited to start sharing more about me! I'm hoping to use this as a place for my thoughts, opinions, ideas and to all around...express myself!

Let us begin. Where does tired as a mother come from? Well, it's a mixture of my sailor's mouth and my existential existence as a literal mother. Over the years, I've found myself to be hiding parts of myself from my professional life. I'm continuously learning that those are two in the same because who I am, bleeds into my career. I'm working hard on being more comfortable with being who I am.

I recently posted about how I was shaped into this "professional" I didn't like, when I first started my career. I genuinely hated the person looking back at me in the mirror when I was at work. Slowly I've learned and have made adjustments but truly it's time to speedup this process! I'm really only at the beginning of my career with only having 10 years of experience under my belt, so I'm ready to start experiencing the work world the way I see it and in the ways that will bring me joy! It's an adventure I'm nervous but excited about.

What does professionalism mean to you?

I hope you join me on this adventure. I'm excited to help shape the new era of professionalism and I hope you are too! The days of pressured perfection in the professional world should be long gone by now. Can you imagine how much better we would be at our jobs if we were comfortably being ourselves while kicking ass at what we are already good at? Instead of trying to mold yourself into what "professional society" thought you should be....it's time for us to break the mold!

So, let me introduce myself. I'm Ashleigh P Comeaux. The 'P' is for Prince. I am a mom (a cool one for now). A wife (always been a cool one of these). I am a catMOM of 7 (Yes, SEVEN, that's not a typo). I'm a mom to a daughter with adolescent epilepsy. I am obsessed with Disney and I'm a tattoo enthusiast.

Being creative is one of my MANY middle names. I am the lead singer of a cover band. I photograph weddings with my best friend. I love binge watching many different shows (specially The Office with my hubs over and over again). I have an obsession with true crime and serial killer podcasts and documentaries. I LOVE traveling! Currently building a new house (pray for me)!

I have high expectations but sometimes I don't think I'm worth it. I enjoy changing my hair and expressing myself through color! Whether that is hair, clothes, my glasses or makeup...it depends on the day and how I'm feeling. I LOVE to make others laugh and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I'm nice, kind, positive and honestly trust people way too easily. Guess it's the half glass full part of me. I have anxiety and depression and work on myself daily. I am OCD (just a tad-but I put it to good use, at least I think I do). I am a daddy's girl through and through.

I am always moving...which leads me to the ADHD. I hate folding clothes. I enjoy challenging myself and I love winning! I have a passion for researching and teaching myself how to do anything and everything (google and youtube are sometimes my best friend). My love language is - words of affirmation, for sure! I love giving thoughtful gifts and sometimes I cuss too much (but I oddly enjoy it). Sometimes I have no patience and I'm a for sure not perfect.

I enjoy margaritas (and other adult beverages), pedicures, getting my nails did, coke floats, tacos, roller coasters, laughing, coffee, singing, making friends, playing cards against humanity, being sarcastic, cracking jokes, helping others, singing at church, cooking (sometimes), watching funny videos, bubble baths, quiet time, social media and so much more!
