Tired of getting rejected? Here are 4 ways to NAIL your next interview!

Trying to land your dream job (or any job for that matter) is like emotional roller coaster!

You invest so much time and energy into the process of crafting your cover letter, your CV, applying for countless jobs and then playing the waiting game.

And, particularly in this competitive market, it’s more often than not that you get reject after reject letter and your confidence take a massive hit.

So, when you DO get that phone call or response to say that you have made it through to the interview round, it can feel like you have already won!

Until the reality of the situation hits, and you feel like this is your one shot, cause god only knows how long it could take to get another interview.

You then start to put yourself under all this pressure that you have to NAIL this interview or else it’s back to the drawing board again……and you don’t know if you can go through all that again!??

So, how can you prepare yourself for the interview, so you show up with confidence AND ensure that they remember you as the standout person for the role long after the interview is done?

Here are just some of the ways you can stand out in your interview, leave an impression that rivals all the other candidates, and be the person that stays in their mind and gets the call back!

  1. Do your research – go to the company website and look at what their mission and values are.? This will help information you if a) it aligns to your purpose and values and b) helps you to demonstrate how these align to your values in business and life.
  2. Don’t hide who you are – in order to show up as your most confident self, it’s important to show your true personality.? If the company is right for your they will embrace what makes you unique and see that as an asset to their business!
  3. Wear bold colours – don’t be afraid to wear block colours throughout your outfit, be it a bold tie or dress shirt.? Just be sure that it matches your outfit in and is coordinated and professional. Having bold accents in your outfit will certainly help you stand out and can be a great conversation starter (just don’t go over the top).
  4. Communicate with confidence – communication goes well past just what you say and how you say it.? If you are saying all the right things but your body language is slumped, or you fidget too much then all this can be lost in an interview.??

There are so many elements required to nailing a job interview.? But mostly, it’s about demonstrating through honest conversation stories about who you are, what makes you unique, what you value and how those ties back into the role.??
