Want to inject some energy and excitement into your next session??Time to prepare your workshops with steroids!
Here are 7 key hacks I use in my daily basis:
- Get your team pumped: Define the purpose, know your audience, select the date & venue and then design a clear agenda. An extra tip: assign a pre-workshop tasks to get the team thinking about the theme… And most importantly, let them know that the workshop is a safe space for creative thinking and collaboration.
- Gather your gear: Make sure you have all the materials you need to make the workshop a success. This includes everything from pens and paper to post-it notes and whiteboards. Don't forget to bring snacks and drinks to keep everyone fueled and focused!
- Start with a proper check-in: Start the session with an icebreaker or other activity to help participants get to know each other and get on the mood.
- Get wild (aka get creative): Use brainstorming techniques, mind maps, agile tools, toddlers games, Lego exercises, play-doh, Jenga and other creative thinking exercises to get your team's creative juices flowing. Encourage them to come up with wild and crazy ideas - you never know what might spark a breakthrough!
- Ask the tough questions during the session: Use open-ended questions to encourage discussion and reflection. Ask questions that challenge assumptions and push people to think deeper. And don't be afraid to ask the tough questions - they often lead to the most interesting discussions!
- Develop a follow-up plan: What will you do after the workshop to ensure that the learning continues? How will you measure success? Don’t forget to encourage documentation - so everyone will have a stunning and insightful “recuerdo” of the session. After the session, is also good gather feedback from attendees to identify areas for improvement.
- Build something together: Encourage collaboration and teamwork, and celebrate your successes together! The ultimate goal of any workshop is to create something together. Whether it's a new product idea, a marketing campaign, or a team mission statement, make sure everyone has a role to play in building something meaningful.
So let's get ready to rock your next workshop!
