#tipsfromtheteam - Ideas on different apps to download to occupy downtime.
Below lists a few apps you can download from either google play or the app store that will hopefully be able to help with your downtime from work and try to occupy the kids.
Quizup
Do you enjoy a quiz and love to have a try at all categories? Quiz up might be the one, the app can choose a random player from anywhere over the world or you can play someone you know. The categories range from general knowledge, Educational, science, TV and movies and all the way to Harry Potter.
Solitaire
Solitaire is a game that I absolutely love, it’s very competitive even though you aren’t technically playing anyone! This is a good game to get your brain working and have a bit of competition with yourself by trying to improve your personal best score.
Pinterest is an app that’s good if you love to look up new ideas in a visual sense, you will find new DIY projects, home reno ideas, wedding ideas, hair do ideas, work out ideas and lots more. The idea of it is you will come across something that you are interested in and that you would like to look at again and then you can “pin” it to your board to come back to later. The boards you have that you pin items too can be private or public too.
Duolingo
This is the time to learn a new language if you have always wanted too, Duolingo is a good interactive app for language-learning via a website or mobile app. There are so many language choices to choose from and it personalizes your lessons to your learning style. The app is also available in a kid’s version too.
Suduko
Sudoku is a logic-based game, the idea is to fill a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 subgrids that compose the grid contain all of the digits from 1 to 9. I never used to like this game until I downloaded it and gave it a go and I became addicted to it for a little while!
TikTok
TikTok is an app I’ve seen take off in the past couple of months, I swore I would never download this but since were in isolation I thought I would give it a go. This app is very good, you don’t have to post anything (if you don’t want too). You can find different pranks, cool animal videos and dances etc which can keep you occupied especially if you give the pranks a go yourself!
Kids Apps
Zoombinis
Zoombinis is a game has a mix between logic, analyzing data and problem solving. The kids will guide the little blue creatures away from their home which has been taken over by the evil bloats who have taken them prisoner in their home! Through fun and increasingly challenging puzzles you will guide them to a new home.
Epic
Do you love books? Epic is fantastic for kids who love reading, the app has a choice of 35,000 books. It also includes a read-to-me feature for little ones who are still learning to read.
Stack the States
Stack the States is good for Geography as it includes general knowledge about different states throughout the game. Once you get a right answer, you win a state to add to your stack, and the ultimate goal is stacking your states to a certain height.
Brainpop
Brainpop has been around for decades, it provides kids educational videos from Allergies to Mozart. You will watch one of the educational videos with a quiz afterwards. There is an option to access all videos for a small fee each month, but without paying you get all kinds of videos including internet safety, bullying etc.
