Tips for working remote!

Keeping The World Connected One Geek at a Time! - IT Servicing | Consulting | Infrastructure Technology
I have been in a remote role for the better part of a decade, and while in the past I have always heard my friends and colleagues mention how lucky I am to not have anyone lurking over me to ensure that I have completed my work in a timely manner, the struggle can sometimes be real to focus on the tasks at hand.
Today I am sharing some tips that help me stay on track and I hope it helps you as well.
~ Internet Service
I am a firm believer in having super high-speed internet. When my browser lags or isn't reliable, it makes trying to focus that much harder. 1GB is what I like to have, this speed will likely vary depending on the work you are doing. I wouldn't recommend anything below 40MB for working from home.
~ Computer/laptop
Now that you have your internet, clearly you need a device to utilize. Apple or PC, this will greatly depend on your personal preference. I like my Alienware, but either a PC or Mac are great choices. I always advise looking at the devices as a whole instead of the single benefits they have. This will help you choose the best option for your needs.
~ Communication service (or instant messaging)
Slack, Facebook Messenger, MS Teams, Discord, texting... what is the best way to stay connected with your team? Working remotely means you need to be able to communicate with your team and sometimes it is counter-productive to make a phone call. If I am being honest, I prefer to use Teams! It is a Microsoft product and has the same usability as the rest of their products.
~ Phone Service
I know I said that making phone calls can be counter-productive, but sometimes you have to make calls. Having a phone and a plan that will allow you to call your clients or team is important.
Staying connected will ensure your overall success. I hope this is useful and if you need any help, please let me know.
