A song can convey love in a unique way. Sometimes it's just so much easier to say all what you mean in a song and so much harder in words. Even if you don’t normally sing or don’t know if you can sing, this is your chance to wow your guests and your special someone with "your" song on your wedding day.
- Stay calm. Pick a song that you know well already. There's nothing worse than forgetting words because your nerves get to you and if emotions start getting to you breathe really slowly to calm them.
- Sing it your way. Don't try to mimic the original version of the song. You do not have to sing all the high notes or add difficult embellishments. Change the key and the melody if you need to.
- Stand tall and stay relaxed. Good posture is essential to singing well. Your body is your instrument. Try taking a really deep breath in and now relax but keep your chest lifted.
- Practice lots. If you plan to sing without accompaniment then just go for it but if someone is playing with you, practice with them at least 2 or 3 times beforehand.
- Record yourself. I know it's really hard to listen to yourself but unless you do this you can't improve as much as you could. If you listen you'll know what you'd like to change.
