TIPS On Setting up Presentation Folders for Design
Presentation folders should be set up like any other print product. You can use any program you are comfortable with to open a fresh file.??
The advanced color management and flexibility of InDesign make it a good choice for designing. Make sure the color profile is set to CMYK. For high-quality folder printing, all images and visual content should be designed at 300 DPI.?
Right Dimensions ?
For letter size sheets to fit neatly in the 4" pockets, presentation folders are 9"x12". A pocket is a traditional option for folders that can be placed on either the right or left side.
?? Using the full bleed dimensions of 16.25" x 18.25", we will make both pockets on the folder. A bleed effect requires an additional .125" of background on each side.
Besides adding bleeds, please also consider adding a folder safety margin of .125" from the 16"x18" "cut line". The safety margin must be accommodated in order to prevent important content from being cut.
Page 1 Design ?
Let's take a step back now. It is made by printing one sheet of paper, folding it and gluing it into a presentation folder with pockets.
Page 2 Design ?
Go straight to pockets if you want the interior of your presentation folder to be white and you're ordering single-sided printing.
