Buying or selling a home is one of the most important and personal business transactions. To ensure the experience is as stress-free as possible, the guidance of an experienced realtor is critical. Here are some tips for choosing the right partner.
Ask For Referrals.
Your network is the best resource because then you have a first-hand account of someone’s experience. You know they were successful in your friend, family, or colleagues transaction and also in earning their support. The digital revolution has helped buyers and sellers vet realtors, but the most trusted source for finding a realtor remains your network.
Interview Agents.
Are they trustworthy, passionate, experienced? Do you feel a connection? These are critical elements of the agent/client relationship. You also want to observe how they come to the meeting. Are they prepared and organized? Have they done their background homework on you and what you are potentially looking to do? What’s their style? I approach real estate with a highly analytical and data driven strategy to help my clients make the best informed decision.
Check Them Out Online.
You can earn a lot about an agent through their website and social media. Do they have a strong presence? Scrolling through their social media, is this someone you feel can relate to you? Make sure to read their reviews on Google, Facebook, and Zillow as well.
Trust Your Instincts.
At the end of the day, rely on your intuition and go with the person with whom you feel the most comfortable. You’re going to be spending a lot of time and sharing intimate details of your life with this person. I am grateful to have cultivated lifelong relationships with my clients that I now call dear friends.
