Tips to #ReduceMore Pesticide Exposure While Applying Pesticide
Ensure you don't spray insecticides while wearing only a t-shirt, okay? The risks are too big to handle!!! It’s not just about health risks, but misusing high doses of pesticides can also harm the environment. In this article, we’ll share essential tips you need to know before applying pesticides!
Pesticides aren’t just for the plantation, they’re often used in our homes too. For example, during the rainy season, when mosquitoes invade, you might stock up on insect repellents, right? These repellents are a type of pesticide known as insecticides. Another common scenario is when you spot a cockroach or ants in your home, then you reach for insect spray to deal with them.
In agriculture, pesticides are primarily used to control Plant Pests (PP), such as weeds, insects, fungi, and other harmful organisms. Farmers typically apply pesticides before pest populations get out of control, as a way to protect their crops.
Given how common pesticide use is in our lives, we must use them mindfully and with caution. Carelessness, especially when using excessive doses can lead to unwanted risks. Don’t let what’s shown in this picture happen to you!
These risks are avoidable. In agriculture, there’s a principle known as the 6Ts (Right type, Right method, Right quality, Right target, Right dose/concentration, Right timing), and there are several key practices we can follow to reduce excessive pesticide exposure and avoid these dangers.
So, after learning these tips for minimizing pesticide risks, would you still feel safe spraying pesticides in a t-shirt?
