Tips to Protect Yourself From Energy Vampires

Do you often feel irritated, stressed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted after just a few moments in a specific person’s company? Then this is a sign that your energy is being consumed.
Energy vampires are people who take more than they give, and they can be found everywhere. They may be a family member, a co-worker, or even a client.?
The truth is, if someone consistently makes you feel bad when you're around them, they are toxic to you. They are costing you the energy that could be better spent elsewhere.
You don't have to be around toxic people. You can—and should—protect your energy at all costs.?
Here's what I've been doing to avoid getting sucked dry:?
1. Be intentional
Be mindful of the people you spend your time with and how they make you feel.?
Look at who is in your sphere of influence right now:?
?You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with, so choose wisely!
2. Stop giving away your energy
Fill your life with uplifters - those people who make you feel good.?
When you're around people who make you feel happy and supported, it's easy to see the value in setting boundaries with those who don't.?

If someone consistently drains you, it's ok to distance yourself—or even walk away. Just resist the urge to over-explain or to over-apologize. A simple statement such as, “I’m too tired” or “I can’t, I am too busy” can be enough to push them away.
When they are not getting the emotional energy they need, they’ll look elsewhere.
3. Minimize people pleasing - learn to say NO!?
We all want to be liked and appreciated, but sometimes people pleasing comes at the expense of our own happiness.?
If you find yourself always saying yes, even when you really want to say no, it's time to start putting yourself first.
When you say NO, you immediately stop the energy exchange between you two.
When you protect your energy, you're able to show up as your best self in all areas of your life. You have more energy for the things and people you love, and you're better able to deal with the challenges that come your way.
Over to You!
