TIPS TO PROTECT YOUR NETWORK, INCLUDING THE CLOUD, FROM INSIDER THREATS

  1. Restrict and control removable storage.
  2. Control outbound emails and files.
  3. Block the use of unapproved cloud computing services (such as Dropbox), including personal web-mail.
  4. Ensure that backups are only accessible to select staff members.
  5. Restrict access and implement the principles of least privilege. Ensure that transactions are logged, monitored, and audited.
  6. Deactivate access to users on long-term leave.
