Tips on productivity

Imagine lying on your bed with coffee while tackling work emails. Sounds perfect right, right? But let’s face it: though work from home has its peaks, it also presents unique challenges. Trying to overcome the allure of the couch and the endless Netflix queues can be difficult and derail one from staying focused.

As a fully remote team, we’ve learned a thing or two about mastering the art of remote productivity, and we’ve compiled some to help you conquer distractions and maximise productivity in your home office.

  1. Don't go solo: Working remotely does not imply working alone. Stay connected with your coworkers via video calls, instant messaging, or online collaboration tools. Feeling stuck? A quick virtual huddle can boost motivation and problem-solving, a great way to increase productivity.

  1. Tame the Tech Tiger: Limit social media and email interruptions to improve remote work productivity. Silence your phone, log out of distracting apps, and set specific times to check texts. Use time management tools to prevent distracting websites. Self-control is essential for increased productivity—make it your superpower!

  1. Create your productivity zone: Is your workstation a peaceful haven or a cluttered disaster zone? Invest in creating a space that inspires you. Clean it up, add some greenery, and customise it to fit your work style. A clutter-free mind begins with a clutter-free desk!

  1. Craft a routine that works for you: Create a daily routine for a structured day. Start each morning on a positive note, divide your day into little chunks and take short breaks. Tailor your schedule to your natural energy level—whether you're a morning person or a night owl.

  1. Keep moving: Don't stay glued to your desk. Do quick exercises during breaks—stretch, do jumping jacks, or take a short walk. A refreshed mind is a productive mind.

Bonus tip: Pay attention to your body. If you're tired, take a longer break or do something relaxing. Pushing yourself when exhausted leads to less productivity and burnout.

Finding the right balance between discipline and flexibility is essential while working remotely. Follow these tips to stay focused and become a remote work expert. Happy remote working! ??
