Tips to Make the Holidays Fun!
It's already mid-December, a time to be in the full swing of the holiday season.?
For many of you, it might seem like a very difficult year to get into the holiday spirit (and holidays can be difficult in general; let's not stick our heads into the sand and deny that).
I've got my top three tips to share with you on how to make the holidays fun.
Connect. I know things have changed since the pandemic, including how we connect to our loved ones.
But this should not hinder us from connecting with our loved ones during this holiday season.?
If you are not able to get together due to physical distancing, you can still connect with them online via video.?
Send a greeting card or?write a letter.
Do something special and make sure your loved ones know they are appreciated.?
I know nothing beats physical gatherings BUT with positivity and creativity, we can still make this season very festive.
There are many ways to make that "online" connection fun, like preparing a recipe together, going around and sharing stories or rhymes, or doing a group activity.
You can even collaborate on a Spotify playlist and listen to it on Christmas Eve while playing virtual games with your friends and family.?
It’s time to get creative!
Care.?
Even though this season encourages and inspires all of us to be selfless and help others, I say: Go ahead, it’s okay to find time to put yourself first.?
Self-care is very important. You can check out one of my recent blogs for ideas.
Even something as simple as sleeping for an hour or two more or going on a fifteen-minute morning walk can do you a world of good.?
Create the time to focus on taking care of yourself, applying whatever strategies that call to you.
Contribute.?
In the spirit of the holidays and expressing gratitude, I want to take a moment to remind us about the importance of thinking of ourselves as part of a greater community.?
Generosity makes us healthy, happy and extends our lives. Check out my recent blog post to learn more about the benefits of giving back.?
My giving this year is across all areas of time, treasure and talent.? I've jazzed up my work at Nurture with new team members, and we are working on ideas of how we can help communities (specifically children and families) to improve their health.?
If you’d like to get involved with your time and talent, please reach out to me via my contact page.?
When you Connect, Care and Contribute, things can improve. Yes, the pandemic brought restrictions, we can still make the holidays fun!
I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season!?
