Tips For Learning Something New The SUPER FAST Way!
I have a funny story to tell you… years ago I hired a high level coach, like $3k for 6 meetings kind of coach…YOWZA! And he sucked… not in general, just for me!
He sucked because he was the kind of guy who was driven by money so if he told me to ONLY work with REALTORS forever and ever that made him happy, but it was like looking in the depths of hades for me… ONLY REALTORS FOREVER… hard nope.
And it isn’t because I hate Realtors… my besty is a Realtor for goodness sake.
It is because I am NOT the kind of gal who wants to have a “One Thing” kind of mentality…. I am the kind of gal who has a “Do ALL The Things” mentality… whoo whoo… PARTY! ?? ?? ??
But there is a benefit to doing one thing for a while… you get clarity about that thing!
For example, I did a video about collage a day for a year… yep 365 videos, mostly about collage.
Guess what? I got REALLY good at collage… YAY ME!
And then this month I am making a vintage ephemera freebie a day for a month and posting it in my brand new Facebook group.
So a few things have happened…
First I realized that I am not accomplishing my goal because I was sorta doing it wrong… I wanted to get more Google clicks but I was writing my posts wrong to make that happen.
But that is no bother at all! I have already done the hard part, making the freebie, writing the post, promoting the post… now all I have to do is make a few tweaks!
Second I have gotten some super good systems together to do all the parts of making freebies… again, YAY ME!
This is officially called “Economies of Scale”. That is a fancy way of saying that when you do a whole bunch of the same thing you improve… cool, huh? (do the kids say cool anymore? I may be dating myself!!)

Last I have grown my brand new Facebook group by 326 members in 19 days! That is pretty impressive if I do say so myself!
NOW YOU!
What would you like to get better at? Say you want to get better at making gel plate backgrounds.
Start a plan to spend a month doing a gel plate background a day for a month.
I promise you that your first ones will be trash… not because you are bad at it, but because you aren’t “in the groove” of making yet!
Somewhere around day 20 you will start being BRILLIANT and have exponentially better work than you did when you started.
And the neat thing is that you get to keep that knowledge without having to do gel plates every day of the rest of your life!
It is a way of tricking yourself into becoming an expert at something in a really short period of time!
Hopefully that helps!
XOXO
