Tips for Intro Calls & Discussions

Tips for Intro Calls & Discussions

Whether you’ve applied for a position, or your interest was piqued by a tap on the shoulder by a recruiter, here are my tips for preparing for an introduction call or subsequent discussions about a potential dream job:?

  1. Career Progression - Be prepared to discuss your career journey concisely and transparently explain the reasons behind any transitions you’ve made.?

  1. Know Your Club - Ensure you know your numbers. Confidently speak to key metrics, scale, size, organizational structure, and where your Club stands in the marketplace.?

  1. Motivation for Change - Get clear about your motivation for a potential change. Consider highlighting specific aspects of the opportunity at hand that appeal to you beyond factors like compensation or location.??

  1. Showcase Achievements – Talk about significant projects you’ve led to completion, successful initiatives you’ve spearheaded, mentees you’ve guided to success, strategic decisions you’ve influenced, or improvements made in areas like growing membership and member satisfaction.??

  1. Areas for Development - Be open about areas where you seek professional or personal growth. Honest self- reflection ensures we are looking at all angles to make sure we have the right fit.?

  1. Leadership Style – Let’s talk about what kind of leader you are, and what type of environment, culture, and challenge will allow you to thrive.?

There is so much more to talk about, but it is my hope that these tips serve as a starting point to help you prepare for initial discussions that can make a great impression. Make the most of your time with your search professional to increase your chances of landing a fantastic and well-fitting position.?

I look forward to speaking with you soon!
