TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF EACH WORKOUT.

TIPS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF EACH WORKOUT.

If you see your training sessions as a way to get fit, healthy and feeling good about yourself rather than it being a social event, you will want to maximise your workouts.

You’re spending your valuable time and money on this so you want it to be successful and deliver the results you want.

Below are a number of ways which you can do this:

1) BE DEDICATED TO YOUR TRAINING:

Be excited, focused and driven in what you are going to achieve - and it will happen! If you are truly determined to get fitter and healthier, bring that attitude to each of your workouts. This willingness and drive to change your life will take you to great places and success.

2) TIME AND STICK TO SET REST TIMES:

For all my clients workouts there are rest times between sets. These are not just random times and should be adhered to by using a stopwatch or timer on your phone. Your rest times are as vital as the exercise as they prep and reset the body. By keeping these consistent rather than taking varying rest times will work best for your body.

3) ALWAYS BE HONEST, WITH YOURSELF AND YOUR TRAINER:

Don’t kid yourself or your trainer. Your PT will have a difficult time managing your program and results if you claim to be exercising more frequently or intensely, or eating better, than you actually are! Be upfront about what you are doing, what you are willing to do, and areas you are struggling. Your trainer can then discuss the results you can expect.

4) BE OPEN TO TRYING NEW ROUTINES AND EXERCISES:

Exercising is like everything - the more you do it the easier it becomes. Stick with the workouts even if they don’t come easily at first.

However, if you genuinely feel at risk of injury from an exercise, do not do it - and feed back clearly to your trainer about the issue.

5) LESS TALK, MORE ACTION:

Although a little chat in the gym does no harm, don’t let talking derail your workout! Stick to the plan and observe the correct timings. You don’t have to be rude either - if someone wants to chat just explain you are on a schedule and will catch up with them afterwards.

As usual, any questions fire them over.
