TIPS FOR DEALING WITH ABDOMINAL BLOATING!

At one time or another, you've probably felt bloated, which is the uncomfortable sensation of having trapped gas or increased pressure in your gut. This digestive symptom may also be accompanied by an enlargement of the waist called abdominal distension.

Bloating is very common, occurring in 16-31% of the general population. Fortunately, it's generally a short term problem that resolves on it's own, perhaps triggered by a large meal or a gas producing food. However, for some people, bloating is a chronic problem that causes moderate to severe symptoms and negatively affects quality of life.

Here are 3 tips that can help reduce the issue of bloating:

1. Avoid too much salt by incorporating more seasonings like fennel, basis cumin and peppermint to replace salt.

2. Drink more water and add mild foods with potassium like bananas, avocado and sweet potatoes.

3. Go for a walk! Lace-up your go-to sneakers, put on a podcast and walk around the block until you feel some relief. In the comments below please include any tips you might offer our followers to help with bloating!

Lemon water helps. I’ve read carbonated beverages and alcohol are some of the worst for contributing to bloating. Bread is a bloat villain for me.
