1) Do Your Homework: Before applying, thoroughly research the company, the role, the team, and anything else relevant. The more you know, the better you can tailor your application.

2) Align Your Value: Write down specific reasons why you would be a great fit for the role, how you can add value to the company, and why the position aligns with your passion or career goals.

3) Tell Your Story: Craft a compelling narrative for the Hiring Manager that ties together your research and reasons for applying. Incorporate this into a single document with your cover letter, rather than sending two separate files.

4) Apply Strategically: Submit your application through the company’s career website/portal or a LinkedIn advert.

5) Expand Your Network: Don’t stop at just applying. Connect with the Hiring Manager, Recruiter, or someone from the team on LinkedIn. Always include a note with your invite, e.g., "Hi Suzie, I just applied for the 'Sales Rep EMEA' role and would love to connect with you."

6) Follow Up: After a week, reach out to your new connections. Mention some of the insights you gained from your research and politely inquire if they’ve had a chance to review your application.
