What are we waiting for? That's the question that keeps popping up lately and gets thrown around in TLL.

Human behavior has always been a puzzle for scientists, and it still is. And when it comes to society or the global community, it's like diving into an even deeper mystery.

Why are people still going hungry when we have the means to fix it in a heartbeat?

Why are there still folks lacking education in this age where information is supposed to be at our fingertips?

And why do some still not have access to clean water?

Why are we dragging our feet on taking climate change seriously?

The common theme here is "still," right?

Let's zoom in on climate change and chat about it for a bit.

Let's get real and face reality head-on. Are we seriously going to sit back and debate whether this issue is urgent or just some overblown drama?

Listen up, because these stats aren’t playing around. Ipsos says 71% of folks globally are expecting more extreme weather in 2024 compared to 2023. That's a 6% jump since 2022. And get this, 51% reckon a major city is gonna get hit by a natural disaster this year. Another 6% hike since 2022. But hey, maybe those numbers are just too abstract for you.

So let's bring it home, to the real people living this nightmare. CoreLogic drops the bombshell: 14.5 million homes in the U.S. got smacked by natural disasters in 2021. That's one in every ten homes, folks.

Now, let's hear it straight from the horse's mouth. According to a survey by Forbes Home: For Mr. Pyslarash, the hurricanes in Miami are getting fiercer each year. He's only faced one tropical storm himself, but the area's constant flooding forced him to upgrade to an SUV after his sedan nearly sank on Collins Avenue.

Miss. O'Brien paints a grim picture too. She's noticed the storms worsening over the years. What used to be manageable for the locals has turned into a relentless onslaught. No breaks between storms, just constant chaos.
