The Tipping Point!!

A SOLEMN WARNING!

To my LinkedIn contacts and associates! The last two months the planet earth was as hot as it has ever been in the history of recorded temperatures. That means it may be hotter than any time in human history.?YOU SHOULD BE ALARMED!!?If not, let me tell you why you should be. The current temperatures are previews of coming events for earth’s temperature. According to many climate scientists, current temperatures will persist for the next 200 to 300 years into the future. Each summer will get hotter, and temperatures will persist beyond summers. In other words, there will not be much relief for human beings on this planet. Earth is a sick planet because of the millions of tons of greenhouse gases being pumped into the atmosphere each day, becoming carbon neutral ASAP is critical to our survival. Why! The artic and Greenland ice shelf is melting seven times faster that was initially calculated. The scientists were wrong. The sea level rise has changed ocean currents. Ocean currents control the Jetstream and weather.

?The “Tipping Point” is estimated to be an additional 1.5 Celsius of warming of the earth. If this occurs by 2050, it will push us past the point of no return. According to climate scientists I have spoken with, it will occur before 2050. If we fail, it will mean that young people today and their children will need to find the means to survive temperatures of 135-140 degrees Fahrenheit or 52.6 -57.2 Celsius or hotter for the next approximately 200 years.?The persistence of such temperatures will be death sentences for millions of human beings and animals each year. Millions of climate refugees are already on the move.

In Canada (Vancouver) the heat dome lasting between June 25-July 1,2021 took the lives of 638 people. It was the worst natural disaster in Canadian history. In the UK,619 people died on July 19, 2022, from temperatures of 105 degrees Fahrenheit or 51.6 degrees Celsius. At least 150 people have died in Mexico from heat related factors since March of this year. If we fail to quickly reduce carbon emissions before the “Tipping Point” I am afraid our children and grandchildren will face life and death issues from rising temperatures, catastrophic flooding, forest fires, disease, monster tornadoes and hurricanes.

Those of us who plan to either pass on our businesses to our children or sell out and spend the older years enjoying retirement are in for a rude awakening.?The trajectory of catastrophic climate change indicates life as we know it is already changing for the worse. Today as I write this article, a hurricane is ashore in California, its flooding, an earthquake just occurred, and Maui was destroyed by a forest fire pushed by an 80 MPH wind. The fire traveled the length of a football field every 20 seconds. ?

President Biden has set a goal for reduction of carbon emissions by one half of 1.5 Celsius by 2030 to avoid the “Tipping Point”. Unless we vote out the MAGA cult in 2024, it will not happen. If we are living in chaos and gun violence, we are distracted from saving the planet for all of us and our children. If you are 60 years old or younger you have an obligation to join forces and fight for a future free of suffering and death because it is simply too hot to sustain life as we know it now. ?If we fail to avoid the “Tipping Point” our children and grandchildren have no chance for a good life when the daily temperature is 135-140 degrees and the heat-index at150 degrees Fahrenheit most of the year for the next 200-300 years.
