The Tip of a Blade of Grass

The Tip of a Blade of Grass

To begin this post, I would like to share with you an excerpt from "Family Happiness," a novella written by Leo Tolstoy in 1859:

My old dejection passed away and gave place to the unrest that spring brings with it, full of dreams and vague hopes and desires. Instead of living as I had done at the beginning of winter, I read and played the piano and gave lessons to Sonya; but also I often went into the garden and wandered for long alone through the avenues, or sat on a bench there; and Heaven knows what my thoughts and wishes and hopes were at such times.

After coming to terms with my relationship with social media and recognizing the addictive qualities of these tools, as well as my own inclinations, it has become evident that some changes are necessary. However, I am unsure about what those changes will entail.

I hope to recalibrate my relationship with social media and break free from its addictive grip. Instead of constantly seeking validation and measuring my self-worth based on likes and followers, I want to focus on embracing the ordinary aspects of life.

And with that, I have commenced my passing as I was instructed to die and be reborn as part of the natural order. Each part of me is like a blade of grass, each furry beast, the sprouting shoots upon the tree, to seeing eyes shine with the fulgate light. Those manifold changes that it suffers into wind and water, earth, stars, and the birth of plants and animals are called disappearance and new births, and the new song sung is full of sufferings and wanderings but also of great joy in another birth.

As we journey through life, we experience the ebb and flow of emotions that leave their imprints on our physical being. Joyous moments bring a sparkle to our eyes, a radiant smile that illuminates our faces, and a lightness in our step. But just as quickly as they arrive, they too fade away, leaving behind a faint echo of their presence.

Yet, it is the weight of sadness that etches itself upon us with a deeper intensity. It settles upon our shoulders, causing them to droop and our posture to become slouched. The burden of grief takes hold, and our once vibrant energy diminishes, replaced by a heaviness that seems to permeate every inch of our being.

Anger, like a raging fire, courses through our veins, fueling a restlessness that manifests in our physical movements. Our fists clenched, our muscles tense, and our faces contorted with a fierce determination. The physical effects of anger are palpable, as our heart races and our breath quickens, mirroring the intensity of our emotions.

Fear, the ever-present companion, tightens its grip on us, constricting our chest and causing our breath to become shallow and rapid. Our senses heighten, scanning our surroundings for any signs of danger. The physical manifestation of fear is a trembling in our limbs, a knot in our stomach, and a clammy sweat that coats our palms.

And amidst the tapestry of emotions, love weaves its gentle touch upon us. It softens our features, filling our eyes with a tender glow. Our heart beats in rhythm with the joy of connection, and warmth radiates from within, spreading through our body like a comforting embrace.

But just as life itself is fleeting, so too are the physical effects of these emotions. They come and go, leaving traces of their existence, but ultimately fading away into the vast expanse of time. And as we move through the cycles of birth, aging, illness, and death, we come to understand the impermanence of it all.

In this transient existence, let us strive to embrace each passing moment, to cherish the beauty that lies in the ephemeral nature of life. For it is in this understanding that we find the true essence of our being - a fragile yet extraordinary journey that dances between the boundaries of existence and nonexistence.

Channeled Message

We rise from the ashes of doubt, igniting our spirits with fierce determination. Each step forward is a battle won against the shadows that once consumed us. The wounds we carry become badges of honor, reminders of the strength that resides within.

In the face of adversity, we stand tall, refusing to be defined by the limited perceptions of others. Their voices, like whispers in the wind, fade into insignificance as we embrace our own truth. We name and claim our worth, casting aside the doubts that once plagued our minds.

With every milestone reached, we celebrate the triumphs of our journey. Each hurdle conquered is a testament to our unwavering dedication. We are apprentices of life, forever learning, growing, and evolving.

Self-esteem becomes our armor, shielding us from the arrows of doubt and criticism. We recognize our inherent value, nourishing it with love and acceptance. Like a thirsty plant, we water ourselves daily, allowing self-love to seep into the very depths of our being.

And as we bloom, our roots dig deeper into the soil of self-love. We become a force to be reckoned with, radiating confidence and resilience. No longer are we held captive by the chains of self-doubt, for we have discovered the power within.

So let us embark on this journey, holding our wounded beliefs with compassion. Let us face the illusions of others with unwavering strength. And let us celebrate the growth and empowerment that comes from embracing our true selves.
