?? Tiny habits & mental health

To make big changes, you have to start small.

That's the central thesis of the book Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg, the behavioural science book that's become renowned for helping people change everything from losing weight to sleeping better to quitting smoking.

I can't be quite sure if Michael Acton Smith has read it - but it's certainly a philosophy he applied when he was building Calm . At the time they launched, mental health remained a fringe topic, meditation and mindfulness even more so. But through helping people implement small habits into their everyday routine, Calm has become a central resource in millions of people's lives.

In the latest Startup Bulletin, Michael shared some of the most valuable lessons he's learned about building a business, including his insights on hype, hiring, and addressing wants vs needs.
