Timothy Mcgarry, Global Manufacturing OPEX Leader from Philips Healthcare visited SMEAL Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations Class

This week, we were happy to host our own Lean Guru, Tim McGarry, Global Manufacturing OPEX Leader from Philips Healthcare at Penn State SMEAL Supply Chain and Manufacturing operation class. This was a great interactive session at the campus. Tim shared his career journey from the very beginning to his current role. He shared his experiences from different areas of manufacturing world. We discussed how to implement Lean Operations in the industry. He shared Philips company promise and vision for global transformation of manufacturing operations. He was very excited to share samples of the work on how to create value stream map, identify the waste and improvement opportunities by using Kaizen principles. He also showed us how to link problem solution techniques, Hoshin planning and Daily Management mindset for business operations.
