Throughout my 20s, and well into my 30s, I thought it was all about the?G R I N D.?

I would strive to be?busy. Study, work, parties, mentoring, dating, a business, volunteering…… All. Of. The Things!

Then a few years ago, I engaged a coach. Amongst other pearls of wisdom, Mary told me: "Stop working so hard".

"Yep!" she cheerily told me, "Take your foot off the brake and your business will do better."

I was tres dubious - but figured I’d give it a red hot go.

?I started time blocking. De-cluttering my working week. Actively taking time to read a book and relax. ?It took some getting used to, but slowly?I felt less stressed and less anxious.?

I realized the cult of "busy" had been running me into the ground.

I've now taken it a step further and blocked an entire day in my calendar where I don’t schedule meetings, but I do schedule a long lunch with a friend! (Send me a DM NYC friends - let's get that catch up on the calendar!)

I found these simple changes have made a big difference. I’ve noticed a welcome sense of clarity creep into my headspace.

Here are some ideas you could implement:

  • Swap lunch al desko for lunch al fresco!
  • If you have a virtual or IRL meeting - take it walking outside where possible
  • Easier said than done buuuuuuut - can you try putting a freeze on work emails when you’re at home? (Or from 7pm - 8am at least?)

What’s the one thing you’re going to try and change? Let me know below!

And speaking of small changes that make a big difference, we're focused on micro 5 minute or less tasks in our upcoming free Career Confidence Challenge.

It helps you learn how to handle your performance review so you can get a pay raise & promotion quicker.

Since I've had to work from home due to the Pandemic, I have made a point to remove myself from my desk and eat away from my home office. Previously, I have a tendency to make my lunch and go straight back to my desk and continuing working whilst eating. Mentally I feel fresher and re-energized taking my 30 mins break away from the desk.

Meggie Palmer too funny I’ve just had a huge new lesson. Let me call it how slow ?? can you go. I am now poised to coach and mentor women who think they do not have time for their hysterectomy ??
