The timeline of a successful path

The timeline of a successful path

As Director of Driver Operations Worldwide, Aleksei Mostovshchikov leads all global driver's acquisition, activation, retention and verification processes of the inDriver's company. Driven by the devotion for the transformative power of innovation, he made a career charging toward an unknown destination but still loving the new adventures.

Who was Aleksei before inDriver?

?It was a long story of different roles. After university I started my career as a manager of 8 grocery stores. They were located in 3 different Siberian cities. It was hard, cold, but skillful. I got my first steps in management.

In 2011 I moved from the cold Siberian city to the best city in Russia, the most famous resort, and a really beautiful place. It was Sochi city, which a few years later would host the Winter Olympic Games. So, I moved to Sochi, and it was hard to find any job. I changed several jobs - I worked as a bartender in a nightclub, a wedding DJ, a waiter, a showman, and a member of an animation team. I tried my own business and launched a bar and an events agency. It was hard for me that I lost both of those businesses because of the flood in Sochi.?

After I lost my own businesses, I started to work in a Sochi Casino and Resort as an events manager. We organized concerts of the most famous Russian singers and stand-up comics.? It was funny, but there was no personal development, and I realized that I don’t want to live like that.?

I just looked for opportunities and found inDriver.

Once in inDriver, what was the first foreign country that you had to launch??

First of all, I want to say that I didn’t launch any of the country divisions by myself - there was always teamwork. So first, I joined the international team in Mexico, in 2018. After that there were Colombia, Chile and Peru, beautiful places, with a lot of unforgettable people and incredible experiences.?

How was the adaptation process away from your family??

So, when you leave home for a long time, the hardest time is the first 3 months. If you don’t want to feel lonely, you need to work, and work a lot. From sunrise to sunset, you will not have a minute to feel lonely. So, my secret is just to work, and if there are no tasks, to create new tasks for yourself and keep working.

"You need to be honest with your team and partners. Always."

What does the management of the teams of other regions mean? (Multicultural adaptation)

I think that all people are the same. I mean there are some cultural differences, but in general all the people in the world want the same things.?I think that in international management communication is a bigger barrier than culture.?Here I had a great advantage, because I love linguistics and studying new languages. That helps a lot.?

Give 3 key tips to be successful in any professional career:

First, I would like to say that you need to be honest with your team and partners. Always.?Second, that you should not stay in your comfort zone. If you see that you are in the comfort zone, and need to change something, you stop developing. Never stop developing yourself. And last - respect yourself, and do what you love.
