Most of you have heard the words Satva, Rajas and Tamas. If not then don't worry. I will try to explain it as simple as possible.
If you read Bhagvad gita, you will realize that it contains profound knowledge of how our body, mind and soul are integrated. It beautifully explains the mechanism of all three. It is indeed a life manual and applicable for all irrespective of different religions.
Lord Krishna in Shrimad Bhagvad Gita speaks about 3 Gunas which drives the whole world.
Satva (Goodness)
Nature: Illuminating and pure, Satva embodies serenity and wisdom.
Influence: Harmonious and peaceful, Satva fosters an inner state of balance and tranquility.
Characteristics: Selfless and virtuous, Satva manifests as compassion and forgiveness.
Actions: Satva-driven actions are guided by altruism and righteousness, contributing to the greater good.
Outcome: Cultivating Satva leads to liberation and enlightenment, transcending worldly limitations.
Rajas (Passion)
Nature: Active and ambitious, Rajas is characterized by restlessness and desire.
Influence: Rajas fuels ambition and drive, propelling individuals towards worldly success and achievements.
Characteristics: Rajas manifests as competitiveness and attachment, often leading to self-centered behaviors.
Actions: Driven by desires and ambitions, Rajas-driven actions are often focused on personal gain and accomplishments.
Outcome: While Rajas can lead to worldly success, it also perpetuates attachment and binds individuals to the cycle of material existence.

Tamas (Ignorance)
Nature: Inert and dark, Tamas represents lethargy and ignorance.
Influence: Tamas fosters a state of inertia and delusion, clouding the mind with ignorance.
Characteristics: Tamas is characterized by neglect and selfishness, leading to harmful and destructive behaviors.
Actions: Tamas-driven actions are often driven by ignorance and apathy, resulting in stagnation and suffering.
Outcome: Tamas binds individuals in a cycle of ignorance and suffering, hindering spiritual growth and self-realization.
You will find people influenced by mixture of these 3 modes. i.e. exhibiting 1 guna as per the time, place and circumstance. Amazing concept which helps us to progress in our life. We can always at any moment check, which mode is influencing us and accordingly try to cultivate satva guna more and more. In addition to that our food, thought, desires, actions, environment, likings, habits, nature all can be molded to increase satva guna.
Do apply this concept in your life and see the positive change.
