Timeless Lessons from 97 Years of a Life Well-Lived

Hey there,

Welcome to another edition of insights and stories from my journey. Today, I’m diving into the invaluable lessons I’ve learned from a man who’s seen nearly a century of life—my 97-year-old grandfather, whom I affectionately called Dadu! ??

Life Lessons from My Dadu

Growing up with Dadu taught me more than any book or classroom ever could.

And even though I’ve lived only 32 of his 97 years, the impact of his teachings on my life is immeasurable.

Its hard to put into words, but I’ll try anyway—because his lessons are too good not to share:

  • Curiosity Didn’t Just Kill the Cat: At 9, Dadu told me, "No question is a stupid question." His mantra was simple: “If you don’t ask, you’ll never know.” That curiosity? It’s my superpower now.
  • Dress Like You Mean It: At 17, Dadu made it clear—personal grooming isn’t optional. “Even at home, it’s a sign of self-respect,” he’d say. Thanks to him, I’m always camera-ready—even in a lockdown.
  • Look the Part, Play the Part: By 23, I learned that if you’re a businessman, you should dress like one. Dadu had a strict no-slippers-and-shorts-outside rule. And yes, that includes quick grocery runs. He believed that showing up mattered—so now I always do.
  • Timeliness is Everything: Dadu’s clock was always right, and so was his timing. He was never late. Inspired by his punctuality, I try to channel that same timeliness—because let’s face it, life’s better when you show up on time.
  • Take the Risk, Skip the Regret: At 26, I was paralyzed by a tough business decision. Dadu’s advice? “Take the risk. Leave no space for regret.” It’s become my go-to advice for life, love, and everything in between.

Well, lets just say - he knew that fortune favors the bold.

Here’s a cool moment where Dadu takes my tech game up a notch—using AI like a champ and showing me how it’s really done!

Takeaways Worth Sharing

Dadu didn’t just teach me how to live—he taught me how to thrive. And because I believe in paying it forward, here’s what you can take away from his wisdom:

  • Ask away. Curiosity leads to growth.
  • Grooming matters, even on lazy Sundays.
  • Be on time, always.
  • Take the leap. Regret is a heavy burden.

These lessons are timeless, just like Dadu’s stories, and I hope they resonate with you as they do with me.

Until next time,
