Become highly Effective!

Here are the Nine Timeless Habits and strategies I learned from working with and coaching 100’s CEOs, Directors, Managers, Entrepreneurs, and Successful Business Owners, who, with no exception, formed these?Daily Timeless Habits?to stay focused, productive, disciplined, and efficient, no matter what challenges may come their way.

1.?They Get Up Early:

Join the 5:00 am Club; don’t beat yourself up if you find it difficult initially. Habits are molded slowly and through constant repetition. After all, your body is the instrument of your mind and the part of your personality that diligently and unconditionally behaves according to your habit patterns.?

John Ray’s famous proverb, “The early bird catches the worm.” It doesn’t only mean early risers will first catch the day’s opportunities. Still, it also means that getting up three hours early to complete the tasks and action activities that will yield the highest results and outcomes is a critical element of being highly productive.

Apply the 30/30/20/20 Rule to Wake up Early:

  • 30% Determination?– Decide to change your lifestyle and sleeping habits.
  • 30% Preparation?– Prepare to sleep early. Plan your next day before bed, and get excited about one thing you want to do tomorrow.
  • 20% Execution?– Remind yourself every night before you sleep about when you want to wake up. Put your alarm on the other side of the room. If you’re going to engage yourself and avoid falling back asleep, Get out of bed.
  • 20% Repetition?– Most of us know that repetition is the first law of learning. You may not succeed the first few times, but by repeating this behavior over and over with consistency, you will eventually form the Habit of waking up early.

Set Clear SMART Goals!

2.?They Write Their Goals and Actions Activities Every Morning:

Writing your Main Goals and Key Action Activities and reading them first thing in the morning is one of the best things you could do to multiply your productivity. This Habit alone can transform your ability to focus and discipline yourself to carry out the essential tasks that give you the highest return.

Do you know where you’d like to be in six months? What about this time next year or even 5 or 10 years from now? If not, it’s time to start setting some challenging goals!

Goal setting is essential to managing your life well and becoming highly productive because goals give you a clear vision of your destination, which eventually is, reflected in the things you do and accomplish every day. Clarity has a direct impact on productivity. When you know where you want to go, you can manage your priorities, time, and resources. Goals also help you decide what’s worth spending time on and what’s just a distraction.

Become familiar with the SMART acronym (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely) for setting challenging, worthy goals. Begin to set clearly defined goals to keep you motivated, Productive, and Directed.

Highly Productive People formed the Habit of writing their ‘To-Do’ Lists the night before and then rising early in the morning to consistently follow through on these tasks and action activities.

Here’s an idea of how you can do it. Before you go to bed at night, write the 6 Action Activities you must do tomorrow that will make your day very productive, then number these actions in order of importance from 1 – 6. When you start carrying out the activities the next day, begin with No. 1 until completion; never go to No. 2 or 3 unless it’s out of your control 100%.

3.?They Read 30-60 Minutes Every Day:

Reading makes you smarter through “a larger vocabulary and more knowledge in addition to developing your intellectual reasoning skills.” Lesson – whether John Maxwell, Peter Drucker, Napoleon Hill, or Aristotle – is one of the quickest ways to acquire and integrate new information.

Many great leaders claim reading across different fields is also suitable for creativity. In addition, leaders who can sample insights in other areas, such as sociology, sciences, economics, or psychology, and apply them to themselves and their organizations are more likely to innovate and prosper. Reading for 30 minutes a day for six days is much better and more effective than reading for 6 hours a day, one day a week, especially in forming new habits. Remember, habits are formed through repetition.

Stay Focused on What Matters!

4.?They Stay Focused – They Dedicate 30 Minutes for Focused Thinking Every Day:

Highly productive people make time to process everything that’s going on in their lives every day. They tend to think in isolation, especially in the early mornings; they read and write for at least 30 minutes daily.

Often they’ll reflect on their career, Vision, health, and personal relationships. Having quiet time to analyze your thoughts is associated with stress reduction. Two minutes at work to focus on nothing but your breath will help you relax.?

Managing many tasks during irregular work hours can get overwhelming, and it’s easy for some things to get overlooked. However, a lack of organization can severely hamper your productivity. To prevent last-minute scrambling and forgotten appointments, use technology to schedule your time and actively remind yourself what is coming up. Utilize the calendar on your phone and computer. Schedule everything and set follow-up reminders.?Learn more about Life/Time Management Pitfall.

You can also use technology to keep track of ideas that occur at odd hours or details that you will need to remember in the future. You can write notes whenever you think of something, even in the middle of the night. You’ll never remember it otherwise. But don’t just depend on technology. Write down everything, not just written on your phone but actual notes.

Research shows that we remember things best when we put pen to paper rather than typing things out. In addition, psychologists have found that activities like free writing prompt the type of creative thinking that is essential to problem-solving and entrepreneurship.

5.?They Exercise 60-Minutes 4 or 5 Times a Week:

I couldn’t perceive the importance of 60 minutes of exercise daily. In 2018, I had to undergo surgery to realize that being productive is impossible without being healthy, probably because we take our health for granted. But, thinking about it now, how can you be highly effective if you’re not healthy and in good shape??

Exercising daily demands time, discipline, commitment, and effort enormously. It also demands flexibility in using your resources – especially your time. Embracing this flexibility is one of the best things you can do for your productivity and health satisfaction.

6.?They Connect and Associate with Like-Minded People:

Knowing when you need help is critical to maintaining productivity. Sometimes this means hiring an employee or outsourcing tasks that prevent you from working efficiently. You can outsource and delegate some activities to take things off your plate.

Recognizing your limitations includes turning to others for advice when you benefit from someone else’s extensive experience.

Collaborate, associate, and brainstorm with your Mastermind Group and other small business owners. Having people in your network who are in the same boat can help you feel less alone. You can learn from them, and they can learn from you. To learn more about building the Mastermind Group, read our Article? Why You Need to Develop Your Ability to Persist!

7.?They Get Enough Sleep:

Sleep is critical to becoming a highly productive person. Most of the Highly Productive Business Owners, CEO’s and Directors I worked with formed the Habit of sleeping early and at least 7 – 8 hours at night.

Sleep is critical to your success in becoming Highly Productive because it affects your memory, citing, temper, and energy level.?

Our human body could be compared to a Formula One Racing Car, only millions of times more sophisticated and complex, yet the Formula One car must stop to change the tires and refuel. If you didn’t know before, Pit Stops are a must in Formula One Races, and the race cannot exceed 2 hours regardless. It’s the same with our bodies. We need to rest, and we need to rejuvenate and refresh our energy levels.

8.?They Create Multiple Sources of Income:

Highly productive people are financially free. They are economically accessible and growing continuously. Being financially independent gives you peace of mind, which affects your ability to be productive, creative, and effective.??

Worrying about your financial situation is different from being busy growing it. The first hurts your self-confidence and, therefore, your productivity, and the latter will positively impact your self-confidence, creativity, and productivity.

Find a way to develop and Create Multiple Streams of Income. Invest wisely; however, don’t take too significant risks, but without risks, there can be no growth on personal, professional, and financial levels.

9.?They Avoid Negative People and Time-wasters:

Money isn’t the only resource, and being financially independent is not the only goal that matters to highly productive people. Highly effective people think of time as the most important asset and resource they will ever have. Anything – money, cars, technology, etc. if it is lost can be regained, but time is universal; when it passes, it’s gone forever and can never be recovered.?

If you invest your money wisely, invest your time more wisely. When you invest your time in the wrong people or actions, that time is lost forever.?

Here’s something that I follow as a motto in my daily life. “If your presence doesn’t add value, your absence won’t make any difference.” When you associate with people, add value in every way possible, and make sure they inspire you; they make you a better person than you used to be.

Regardless of whom you are associated with, begin now to develop robust, positive, long-term associations and friendships. When you attend a gathering or a Mastermind meeting, listen and learn.?Read our article?Twenty Ways to Train Your Mind on Positive Thinking to learn more!
