There are 86,400 seconds in a day.
We all get the same amount of time.
How we utilize and organize our time is what separates us.
Therefore, a valuable trait to possess in life is the ability to effectively manage and organize your time.
If you’re like most, you probably feel overwhelmed with responsibilities and activities.
There’s lots to do and not enough time.
The good news is, time management skills can be practiced and learned.
To set yourself up for success, write your goals down. Studies have shown that goals written on paper are remembered more and are aligned with plan activities to achieve them.
Quality Time
In order to spend your time wisely, you first need to know what to stop spending your time on. Assess the things you do day-to-day. Consider what you did each day, what the majority of your time was spent doing, if any time was wasted, or if it was well spent.
Order of Time
If you’re not sure where to start, get the most important and daunting tasks done first. Mark the tasks before you as: important, not important, urgent, and not urgent.
Cross one priority off at a time.
The only way to cross something off the list, is to start.
Set a Time
Reading and responding back to emails can consume your entire day. Don’t let it. Instead, set time blocks in your schedule to allot you only so much time for said tasks.
No Time
Don’t be afraid to say no. It’s okay to decline a request to attend to things more important. If you can’t say no, delegate it.
Later Time
If something just simply isn’t working, walk away. Spend your time being more productive on something else. Let your mind clear from whatever you were working on, you’re welcome to go back to it at a later time when you feel more refreshed.
Attaining daily goals are easier to move, than bigger goal. To do so, creating to-do lists can help.
Balanced Time
Now, this isn’t just about achieving and chasing after goals around the clock, no, your quality of life is important too! Relaxation is important. It’s something that needs to be balanced for sure between work and life. Just be careful not to let your habits of relaxing distract you from getting other, more productive things done.
Time is the most valuable thing you have. It is consumable, irreplaceable, and cannot be saved.
Time management is the core skill which everything else in life depends upon.
