Procrastination: Oh, Time management! You scared me! ?? Why are you shouting like that? It’s just too middle-class. Since we started living in the same house, I thought you would at least learn some manners from me.

Time management: Oh, Procrastination, forget this. I have something exciting to tell you.??

Procrastination: Why? Did you hustle all day to submit things on the deadline again? Such a terribly middle-class thing no???

Time management: (excitedly) No, that happened last week. Something new for this week. ??

Procrastination: I'm enjoying my handcrafted green tea right now; can I have my “me time” please? ??

Time management: No, you have to listen. Until today, I was teaching classes for 4th graders. But now, I feel like I should also teach some lessons to you ??

Procrastination: Oh god, Time management... You and your punctuality. If you had to attend a birthday party, you would block your calendar before getting ready. You would make a to-do list in the morning, listing all your tasks for the day, and only breathe after you tick-off everything. “Life is short, enjoy things today unless it turns out as a FOMO to you” I just don't understand what battles are you fighting. “Jitna bhi Try karo Bunny, life me kuch na kuch chootega hi: Yes, few things can easily be done later, but you being you insist on completing it right away, even if I've prepared a delicious meal for you. ??

Time management: (shouting) Oh, come on, Procrastination! I have a different approach, listen to me.

Procrastination: (eye-rolling) Fine... Tell me and get it over with! Otherwise, your food won't digest properly. ??

Time management: I told you before that I was teaching a 4th-grade student about study routines using “Trumsy habit cards” for the past two months. I taught her how breaking down big tasks into smaller segments can increase productivity and efficiency, right? ??

Procrastination: Yeah, so? ??

Time management: Today, she received her final exam results, and she got really good grades in all her subjects. ?? Isn't that great?

Procrastination: (sarcastically) Wow, impressive. I helped my neighbour build a pond, remember???

Time management: Yeah! But it took you two years to complete that, Procrastination.??

Procrastination: Finishing work on time is for people who have nothing better to do, Time management. I prefer to spend my time doing things that are more enjoyable. ??

Time management: Procrastination, this behaviour only leads to stress and anxiety. It's much better to plan ahead and get things done early.

Procrastination: (chuckles) Oh, Time management. You're so adorable when you're clueless. Hard work is categorically middle class. The truly successful ones know how to play the game. ??

Time management: No Procrastination, you are wrong. If you don't respect time, time won't respect you either.

Procrastination: What am I supposed to do then? I feel so anxious and stressed when I have a pile of pending work on my desk, yet I choose to watch web series on Netflix. ?? But, labour is not for me, Time Management, it's too Suburban middle class you know? I'd rather enjoy Netflix than to even look at the pile of work. ??

Time management: It’s natural to feel anxious and stressed when you have a pile of pending work. But, do you know why you enjoy Netflix in such situations? It is because of instant gratification bias which creates a tendency to seek immediate rewards or pleasure that you get by watching Netflix over the long-term benefits of completing your pending work on time. ??

Let me tell you a research fact, Procrastination. A study by the American Psychological Association found that teens report higher levels of stress than adults. Poor time management skills can contribute to stress and anxiety.

Procrastination: (hesitates) Yeah... yeah! I get it. But how can I change that? ??

(Time management notices Procrastination's reluctance and a hint of fear in their voice.)

Time management: Procrastination, I sense your hesitation. It's okay to feel reluctant when asking for help. But seeking assistance isn't a sign of weakness. It takes courage to acknowledge our limitations and reach out for support. Embrace the opportunity to seek guidance and support, and you'll find success and personal fulfilment.

Procrastination: (pauses, then softly) I guess... I've always seen asking for help as a sign of failure. I've been trying to convince myself that I can handle everything on my own, even when it becomes overwhelming. But deep down, I know it's not sustainable. I'm just afraid of facing my own shortcomings and being judged for them.

Time management: I understand, Procrastination. It's tough to confront our vulnerabilities and admit we can't do everything alone. But seeking help doesn't diminish your worth. It shows strength and self-awareness. Remember, we all have room for improvement.

You don't have to face your challenges alone. I'll help you with that. Keep a few strategies in mind to effectively manage your time. These are essential:

  1. Stay focused, embrace challenges, and persist until you succeed: When it comes to completing a task, maintaining determination and self-motivation is crucial. One effective approach is to stay focused on your ultimate goal. Remind yourself of what you want to achieve and why it is important to you. By keeping your goal in mind, you create a sense of purpose that can drive you forward. ??
  2. Create a priority list: Don't waste time prioritizing all your tasks at hand. Choose the most important ones and create a priority list. Once you've done that, engage in those activities.? ??
  3. Utilize your leisure time to earn more money: Instead of spending it watching Netflix or on social media, use that time to read a book that increases your knowledge or invest it in an online learning course. These activities will help you develop personal skills, leading to potential financial growth. ??

Procrastination: (takes a deep breath) Thank you, Time Management. I appreciate your understanding and encouragement. I guess it's time for me to let go of this fear and start embracing the idea of seeking help. I'm ready to take that step forward and follow what you taught me and break free from the chains of my own.

Time management: That's the spirit, Procrastination! I'm here to support you every step of the way. Remember, asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength and a commitment to personal growth. Let's embark on this journey together and unlock your full potential. You've got this!
