Time vs Money
14 years of experiences traveling the world, and I can not recall as many details as I wish. There was no google account to time stamp and store my photos with geographic records. There was no instagram and TikTok to document and share countless adventures.
I am a little sad about it. I know there are some stories and people missing from my memories. I can not go back and gather them all for safe keeping. That time has passed.
Time just keeps on moving. If we are not intentional, we can forget so much of what has brought us to the present moment.
Consider this thought.
Money is a tool. More of it can help you navigate the world with a little more ease. Less of it can create more challenges to overcome. Being money motivated is not a bad thing, however I challenge the notion that supports money being the most important thing.
Translating my feelings about time and money to my business is easy for me. I value them both, don't get me wrong. It just makes ears burn though, whenever I hear...
"Time is Money"
In my opinion, no it isn't.
Time is TIME.
Money is MONEY.
I hate wasting them both, but only one can be replaced.
I can make more money. I can not make more time.
When choosing agents for my team or considering clients to work with, I think more about TIME than money.
Is this client one I want to share my most precious resource with?
Is this agent going to find my time as precious as I do?
Time is something I consider more than money(income), when thinking about these things for my business and in my regular life.
Does that sound a little selfish? Good.
I encourage you to be selfish as well. Money will come if you serve enough people.
But our friend, time will pass no matter what you do.
Spend it where it is valued. Invest it where it can grow.
