Hope you’ve had a great week. ??
Facebook knows that I love to read (they’re always listening ??) and brightened up my weekend by showing me this pic!
Lifestyle goals right there… ?? ??
I obviously needed a break from the tedium of compiling a prospect list of Swansea businesswomen for my Athena Network launch event in May.?
?It’s a time-consuming process, but it’s also taken me right back to the early days of The Trainers Training Company??—??starting from scratch, making new connections, and building a mailing list from the ground up.
And here’s an observation that applies to all of us in business—if you want people to find and work with you, you have to make it easy for them.
I’ve been surprised by how difficult it is to find information about some businesses.
Sparse LinkedIn profiles, outdated websites, no names … in some cases, I’ve even wondered, Are they still in business?
This was backed up by a really useful report I came across: B2B Buying Decisions in 2025, a survey by??Like Mind Media??of 537 businesses.?
When asked where they go for information about products and services, websites came out on top!
"B2B buyers love to research before they consider reaching out to a supplier. They will consider the information on a supplier’s website as a top priority, so re-evaluating your current website’s content is something to do urgently. Even if a company has recently updated the site, as many businesses do, they should revisit messaging, work through the visitor journey on the site and assess if there is any missing information."
The survey also highlighted that recommendations from others play a huge role in decision-making.
"Whether it is from a peer, in person or via an online review or testimonial, providing evidence that others are using a product/service successfully helps support a decision, particularly if the decision is delegated to others or if someone needs to justify a decision to more senior leadership."
"Businesses should promote positive feedback and reviews as part of their
content marketing strategy – in social media, on their website and in presentations"
In other words … toot your own horn! ??
I always make a point of asking clients for recommendations, and over the years, I’ve built up 281 of them! (You can check them out here: LinkedIn Recommendations).
LinkedIn makes it really easy - you can use their quick template, and it only takes seconds. ?
Just let the person know you’d love to use their recommendation on your website too, and you’ve saved yourself time too. ???
If you’re not doing this, potential clients might just be moving on to someone who is…
What do you think?
Do you ask for recommendations regularly?
Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
