A Time To Be Thankful
If you want to see 35 years fly by in a heartbeat, get a job in which you’re engaged and hyper-focused. Yesterday was my last day at The Courant, but I’m not retiring. I’m taking a brief hiatus and then I’ll be back. Beginning Jan. 4, I’ll continue to draw editorial cartoons on my website, Bobenglehart.com, my syndicate’s website, caglecartoons.com, and on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and any other social media outlet that’s appropriate. Who knows where my cartoons will turn up. I’ll also continue to blog. I learned to write at The Courant and I can’t stop now. I thank the editors who encouraged me, the publishers who indulged me, and the readers who sustained me and supported me. My Uncle Del has always been an inspiration to me. He was a government quality inspector at various aircraft plants in Southern California and he loved his job. One day not long after he retired, he told me, “Bobby, I’ve never worked a day in my life.” Me neither.
Lee Tyrol We will see your work again I am sure. Good luck!
