Time To Talk… and to take part

For the past week we have been running a competition in partnership with PG Tips on our Facebook and Twitter channels to raise awareness of Time To Talk Day on the 6th February. This important campaign is being run by Time to Change and is a growing social movement working to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems. They have already reached millions of people and begun to improve attitudes and behaviour.

Despite the progress they’ve made, they know that many people still don’t consider mental health relevant to them. They don’t believe mental health problems are likely to affect them or people they know. but the reality is that mental health can affect anyone. Statistically, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year. That’s why their work is so important. No one should have to fear being treated differently because of a mental health problem.

You may see special PG Tips cups in our vending machines in the run up to Time To Talk Day, these have been supplied by PG Tips to raise awareness of this important issue and to encourage all organisations to get involved in the campaign. Our social media competitions, which are running on Facebook and Twitter until Tuesday 4th February have already reached around 20,000 people.
