Time to take a different perspective

We were recently asked by a company to go in and have a look at their marketing activity as they had a feeling something wasn’t quite right. You know the sort of thing – an itch you just can’t reach!

It’s something we’ve seen many times before.

But let’s be honest, it can be difficult when you’re stuck in the ‘day-to-day’ running of the business, to then take a step back and look at the bigger picture. It often slides down that ever growing to-do-list and never gets the time it deserves.?The expression ‘can’t see the wood for the trees’ springs to mind! Funnily enough,?we wrote a blog on it too!

As a result, everything stays the same. And you put up with it.

And there’s a common thread when it comes to marketing itches:

  • Inconsistent messages
  • Not understanding your customers pains and problems
  • Don’t know what is or isn’t working
  • No visibility of numbers
  • No plan
  • Difference in perception of internal and external brand

And without a clear plan, there’s a risk of the whole thing becoming a giant (insert your own expletive here) mess!

And as a result you risk:

  • A disconnect between teams
  • A lack of new prospects
  • Missed opportunities
  • Talking at your prospect rather than to them
  • Not building loyalty
  • Poor retention

Going back to our recent visit, it was a mixture of the above that was the issue.

But by asking the right questions and having a fresh perspective we can make sure they are on the right track for delivering the right results in 2023.

If you fancy a chat to find about more about what we did then drop us a line, or even better,?give us a call.

Very true Mike and also a marketing itch can be stuck in the old ways of working and not willing to embrace change.
