Time to take action

Time to take action

1. Do what you say you will

“How are we ever going to teach our children to follow their dreams if we don’t follow our own?”

These were the words of one of the keynote speakers at PCMA Convening EMEA in Copenhagen and ultimately, the catalyst that took Marie-Claire and I from starting conversations with “Some day when…” and “Imagine if…” to starting our own business.

Inspired to take action and replicate our success in a range of organisations and industries, we're launching MCO Performance with the purpose of inspiring others to take positive action. It is our belief that simple leadership tools,? systems and processes clear the path so that more of your team's processing power is reserved for the magic, rather than the mundane.

One of our golden rules is do what you say you will … and launching MCO Performance on 1st February is us doing just that!

The foundation for any good relationship is trust.?How do you build trust?

One of the quickest ways is to do what you say you will so that your actions match your words. This builds not only trust but credibility and integrity too.?

We’re all familiar with the adage “actions speak louder than words”.

The rule do what you say you will is universally understood from the boardroom to the shop floor. It’s also universally observed if?you don’t.?

Our promise to our people, clients and partners is that we will always do what we say we will.

2. Have each other’s back

Psychological safety is lauded as one of the most important factors in creating a high performing team. Having each other’s back does not mean ‘covering up’ it means pointing out if someone has spinach in their teeth.?It’s radical candor and helping clients and our people to be the best version of themselves by being courageous enough to have the difficult conversations at the outset. It’s everyone pulling their weight in the knowledge that some days the most someone has to give is maybe only 20% and on the days they are at 180%, cheering them on and clearing the path.

Having your team’s back is true servant leadership. Imagine for a moment the service we could provide to one another and our valued customers if we all had each other’s backs every day.?That's a powerful combination that helps win everyday battles.?

Our promise to our people, clients and partners is that we will always have their backs.
