Time to Stand

Good morning. Here is your Achievers Weekly Insight. I’ve learned that if you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for everything. In life and business we are often challenged and pressured to push us back, make us move in a undesired direction or crush us all together. As individuals, the response and outcome of the pressure affects or will affect not just us, but people around us as well.
- Are you under pressure today?
- Who’s applying the pressure and in what direction are they trying to push you?
- Are you ok with going in that direction?
Depending on our natural style, makeup and perspective, we look at pressure differently; we could deny the pressure even exist, acknowledge the pressure and believe it will go away, become emotional, lash out and become bitter, be passive aggressive and begin a Cold War, or take an aggressive stance and start fighting. While some of these responses may make you feel comfortable, better about yourself and even vindicated, is it the right response and will it get you the long terms peace, satisfaction and victory you and your people deserve?
Here are a few things to consider:
- Stop and access the current situation being extremely real and honest with yourself. Is the pressure real? Who’s applying the pressure and what do you believe is their intent?
- Determine the long terms results and relationship you want from that particular situation and with the people involved.
- Assess your response to date. Are you dealing with the situation appropriately? Are you allowing past experiences to cloud your interpretation of the facts? Are you becoming too emotional and therefore irrational?
- What adjustments are required? Have you had the appropriate difficult conversations with the main players and have you put all the facts on the table, including your interpretation and how you feel?
- Who can you turn to for help? Who do you trust that you can speak to or lean on to for a frank review of your perspective and response? Who do you know that has had this or a similar experience that could help you get through this successfully?
Doing nothing is an option, but the pressure will not simply become less intense or disappear unless you do something. Therefore let me suggest that having done all, Stand up and stand Strong.
Also remember that application is the door ?? through which we must go to achieve lasting success. What will you pick to apply and stand for or against this week?
Now go out and be the Achiever you were born to Be!
