Time for Soft Skills
Soft skills, often referred to as 'people skills,' have hit a wall. With ever-present tech devices controlling our lives and social media demanding our constant attention, soft skills have fallen off the grid.
Our education system and dysfunctional family situations have failed our younger generations. More and more employers are searching for and have a difficult time finding truly qualified candidates with strong people skills over measurable hard skills. I call these attributes "Things never learned in school."
The top three soft skills most lacking are Communication, Critical Thinking, and Interpersonal Skills. In order to improve performance in the classroom, at the workplace, and in personal lives, soft skills must be taught.
