This is a sad week for the Startup Nation...

On Monday the current Israeli government moved forward with a bill that grants preemptive immunity from judicial oversight to certain laws. The proposed legislation significantly limits the power of the High Court, preventing it from reviewing any law that includes a clause prohibiting such review.

While the tech community in Israel has taken it upon itself to spearhead the opposition against the recent judicial coup, this bill is the first step in eroding Israel's democratic character. If these current reforms are pushed through, no one knows the full extent of the catastrophic impact it will have on the Israeli economy... and destroy everything that has been built.

Is it time to rethink the Startup Nation? I don't think so, not yet at least, protestors, professionals, citizens who helped build the Startup Nation are not going to take this lying down, but it may prove to be a prolonged battle...
