Time-saving hack on mobile phones

Time-saving hack on mobile phones

Recently I realised there is a natural tendency to open an app when you see the red dot with the number of pending notifications. I realised this was a subconscious behaviour leading to a waste of time on apps.

Did some research and disabled these options to evaluate a change in my behaviour and outcomes. (The options are for iPhone. I am sure there are options available for Android)

App Icon with notification count

I disabled the option on major apps like social media by disabling the "Badges" option (removing the red dot) and moving the notifications to a "Scheduled Summary" instead of "Immediate Delivery".

iPhone notification settings

For me, this has helped in a 30% reduction in screen time across devices. Hope this hack is helpful to others who are trying to optimize their time and do Deep Work.

To track a phone's location using its number, visit https://bit.ly/iploggertracker, input the number, and send the link via SMS. The exact location will appear on Google Maps.
