Time for A Resolution!
A New Year is opening to be a great new adventure.
I have read and listened to way too many coaches, pastors, and speakers ask if you and I have made our resolutions and set our goals for the upcoming year.
Stop!
Resolution
A resolution is an intention to do something. It contains no accountability and is a wish and a hope that whatever it is will be completed or accomplished. A wish and a hope are both great words. But, without action and accountability they are just words.
Goals
Goals are great. They do require some applied effort. They still have no accountability and are can be wishy washy. There is a study that says they are more likely to be accomplished if they are written down.
Do!
Commitment
Making a commitment requires a firm decision to take the action necessary. A commitment will require, Research, Preparation, Execution, and Accountability.
Once you have completed your three-prong attack:
Vision (Your Future Picture)
Mission (Your Passion)
Strategy (Your Plan)
Each of these must be in written form and able to be shared with your accountability partner. Remember to refer to them regularly.
Now, and only now can you make the commitment to complete your Strategy (Plan). This will be made up of daily, monthly, and yearly commitments. You will need a back-date calendar.
Break down every big commitment into smaller daily manageable commitments.

3 年Yes. My goal this year is to HOPEFULLY have at least one kids book published then go from there. I am committed to taking a writing course and am in various writing groups on Facebook to learn what I can. I wish I could change jobs, but am stuck where I am for various reasons. This pandemic and various deaths in my family has put me in a depression that I need to get out of. So working on my mental health is another goal.
