Time To Reflect

Time To Reflect

23 pages

Every year I take some time off at the end of the year to do a personal review. Some asked for tips and thoughts on how to do this, so here it is.

I do the following:

- Go over my journals. Yes, I journal, regularly. What I am looking for are repetitive thoughts, concerns, fears, hopes etc. Having them written in my own hand, set against a date and some other contexts in my life, make it very convincing.

- Go over my knowledge graph. I use Tana & Roam Research to collate notes, knowledge and other material. Since I will not be working on anything specific for a week or so, I browse. Stuff turns up.

- Go over some of the books I read, especially the parts I underlined.

- Do the work in an actual workbook. I like to print it out, then write, draw, colour it in etc. This makes it real for me. Tactile. Over the last few years, I have seen myself go back to my review document and get a lot.

This year, I am sharing the template with anyone you wants to do a personal review. The document, is an amalgamation of many models & learnings, and truly nothing in it is mine. If you find something that resonates, use it. Ignore everything else.

You can get it from - https://www.scribd.com/document/694391038/Annual-Personal-Review-Template

Here's wishing you a fabulous new year. In 2024, I am hoping to share some more insights with you, but you will see a difference. There is evolution of the newsletter.

As always, if there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.
