Is Time Really Money?

It took me a while to get used to people saying, “Time is money.” In my opinion, time is many times more valuable than money.
?
Having almost died a number of times myself, I can attest that life is short. That’s why I’m so deliberate when it comes to choosing how I spend my time.
?
I do not waste my time doing things unless they bring satisfaction in the present or contribute to brightening the future. Nor do I waste time trying to help people who don’t really want to be helped, or who have no intention of improving their own lives.
?
I’m picky even when it comes to my clients. Anyone can pay me, but not anyone can make my investment worthwhile. I invest only in those who convince me, not just of their own potential, but also of the seriousness of their intentions.
?
Before making your next big decision, don’t ask yourself, “Will this impress my family, friends, and colleagues?” or “Will this bring me lots of money?” or even, “Will this make me famous, remembered by history?” Ask yourself, instead, “Will this make me happy? Will this bring me satisfaction? Will this make me feel that my time was well spent?”
?
Remember, happiness is not the same as hedonism. Happiness means cultivating contentment with your decisions and yourself.
?
Life is short. Let’s be happy. Let’s use our time well.
