Time to purge!
It is time to sort through and purge your children's clothing. Get ready for tax free shopping and school NOW. If you don't have a favorite charity to donate to, consider organizing a clothes swap with your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. A friend of mine started this in our area and we now take turns hosting it. It is super easy to organize and host. Just pick a date and time for clothes drop off, set up the "shopping" to be the next day, and enjoy! We have wine and appetizers available during the actual swap. Also, there are no rules about how much anyone brings or can take home with him/her. We allow children to attend the swap so they can try things on or veto stuff we might choose. haha! Overall, it is a TON of fun and such an easy way to recycle clothes. We have been doing this twice per year, to coincide with seasonal changes. I am hosting the next one and chose a date immediately prior to our state's tax-free shopping weekend. That way, I can buy whatever we did not find at the swap. Let me know if you try this out in your area!
