Time to pitch the Note 7.
So, we all know the Samsung Note 7 has been subject to recall, and Samsung themselves completely fumbled the promotions, unveil, distribution, and recall. Question: where were your spin doctors on that one?
However, in what I can only presume is yet another cost-cutting measure, airlines are now relinquished from their responsibility to warn passengers about the prohibition of the device onboard flights. In this case, you're all figuratively and literally left to your own devices.
Not really. (Full disclosure, these things still aren't safe. If you're still walking around with this brick in your pocket; either you're blissfully ill-informed, or you're fulfilling some kind of nihilism death wish. Either way, you-do-you, breh!)
I'm about to hop a flight out to NYC. Despite the fact that I'm still a diehard Apple fanboy, I am wondering: how would you all market Samsung to pull them out of this mire and muck? What ideas could be used to repair their reputation and rebuild consumer trust?
The most likely scenario in my mind plays out like this:
We'll all just forget about it. If Samsung continues to ignore it, I imagine the general public will move on, and adopt the next big thing relatively quickly. It's why companies and brands can continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over and over and over.
They'll gear up for the Galaxy Note 8, innovate... push it hard and make people think they're missing out. They'll associate some kickass buzzwords to brand the adjustments (maybe, something like 'safer than ever')...
And then have a fire sale.
Thoughts? How would YOU pitch Samsung?
