Is it time for a new profile image?

Is it time for a new profile image?

Some of the more eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed that I have changed my profile image today. Previously it was a shot of me taken with an iPhone in Mexico when I was racing. I liked it. But did it really present me in the way that I would like to be presented here on Linkedin? I don't think it did.

This is especially true now that I am offering corporate portraits and this being a business networking site. I want the viewers of my page and posts to view me as the professional that I am. Not an amateur sportsman.

Quality work often manifests itself in the attention to detail given to a every project. If a company spends thousands on their branding and marketing does it really make sense to let directors and senior staff have a "selfie" as a profile image on business sites?

What happens when the PR team secure an interview in a paper or magazine? Does it make sense to have a professional image on file to send them or rely on a badly composed, badly lit image that you take in the office on a digital camera? Your image is what helps sell you as an individual and company. It is vitally important to come across as experts and portray yourselves in the most appropriate manner.

A photo is not just an image of you. It says a lot about you. When taking corporate portraits I find out about the company, what style would work best for them and then shoot everyone as an individual with the style we have chosen. People have different facial shapes so  I will light each person to flatter them and then work in post production to make it perfect. It is all part of what I do to make you look great.

The above image is without post production (air brushing). The image below is. You will notice the subtle differences that it makes to enhance the image.

If you are considering having your corporate portraits taken please get in touch to discuss availability and pricing.

I may need some head shots done for editorial features and for my website. Thank you for the recommendation I've quoted and am just waiting to see if they would like to book. Hope all is well with you.
