Time is Money

If I had a dollar for every time I heard that expression growing up from my father...? So how does this relate to the Next Generation in Trucking and the support we provide to high schools???

Next Generation in Trucking has worked with hundreds of schools from across the country since our inception two years ago.? It is always exciting to educate a school on the industry and the vast opportunities that are available to students.? After we educate a school on the NGT program other hurdles need to be overcome such as board approvals and fund securement before a program is implemented.? For some schools, this process may take up to two years before coming into fruition.??

For our industry to survive and thrive it is critical that a sustainable pipeline of young well-trained talent is not only being built, but expanded each year.?

I sometimes wonder what would happen if the Next Generation in Trucking Association didn’t exist? ? How many high schools out of the blue would decide to tackle the task in creating a CDL training program?? Sadly, the numbers would remain the same as what they were before the inception of Next Gen and the industry would once again rely on pure hope that someone would find their way into this career field.??

Time is money, everyone in trucking knows this.? Then why do we continue to put our faith in the hopes that someone will stumble into this industry?

Time is more crucial than ever to be proactive and to continue the development of a strong and stable pipeline.? Not only will the pipeline give us a consistent labor pool of well-trained drivers, but how much different would our industry look and feel if people picked trucking as a first career choice.???

Thank you to all those who continue to support NGT which allows us to do the essential work in pipeline development.? We are not only investing in our future, but more importantly we are empowering and transforming lives.?

And that is something money can’t buy.??
