There’s a time management technique out there for everyone and every work personality. If you're still searching for the right technique for you, one of the more creative time management tips is called the Pomodoro Method.
This popular strategy asks you to alternate “pomodoros” (focused work segments) with frequent short breaks to help keep you moving forward productively in a completely new way. Rather than lose steam halfway through a long To-Do list, if small distractions tend to disrupt your whole workday, try the Pomodoro Method to stay on track. If you’re continuously working far past the point of prime productivity, the Pomodoro Method might be for you. Or even people who have a lot of open-ended work that could take unlimited amounts of time, like research or studying.
How to do the Pomodoro Method:
1: Pick a task
2: Set a 25-minute timer
3: Work on your task until the time is up
4: Take a 5-minute break
5: Every 4 “pomodoros,” take a longer 20-30 minute break
And there you have it. We'll use this technique sometimes with the family or to change up my routine - and it’s very effective especially for brainstorming or strategy sessions. When it comes to productivity and time management, bringing in some variety can shake things up in a positive way and induce some brand new creativity. Go with it!
Continually working to improve time management and productivity tactics are the hallmarks of a successful entrepreneur. After all, time is money. Contact Alan with AdvancingWithUs to learn more business tips and tricks.
