Inverse delegation occurs when team members shift tasks back to their leader, expecting them to handle issues that should be managed at a lower level. If the leader doesn’t address this effectively, they may end up with additional tasks that could have been delegated. This situation often arises when team members lack sufficient skills, the tools provided for the task are inadequate, the instructions for the task are unclear, or the collaborators is not really committed with the task or job. To prevent this, leaders should ensure that tasks are well-defined, tools are adequate, and team members are appropriately trained.
